By Benjamin H. Liles
I don't know how many people ago through what I do in my prayer life. Because by large I feel a lot of the time my prayers are hard to pray, and also ineffective. However, Linda Evans Shepherd does a great job with this book to explain and show how we as followers of Christ can get better at praying. She lets us know there are different prayer types: prayers that are simply that and intercessory prayers, where you stand in the gap on behalf of others.
It is my firm belief that Linda Evans Shepherd has put all she has into this book and it shows as a labor of love from the pen she wrote with. Within the pages of this lovely book she's written the reader will find out that prayer is -
- a gifting and essential
- a secret weapon
- a way to breakthrough
- the way to break strongholds
- a way to win spiritual battles
- and that we can and should pray for our families as well as for others
- to seek God for provision
- and many others
That list is not the full list of the book's contents, but close. The overriding arch of the book is to help people just like myself in not only understanding prayer, but also how to activate prayer that Jesus called us to do within the pages of the gospel stories. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell for a fair and honest review.
