When Life Doesn't Match Your Dreams (Book Review)
By Benjamin H. Liles
If I could have titled this book it would be more along the lines of Hope for the 21st Century. Why do I say that? Since most of us live in this time and place to make the biggest and best impact in these early years of the twenty-first century, we can and should show our faith and hope in the person of Jesus Christ. I don't say that to minimize the work of Jill Eileen Smith at all. I just want to show how good of a job she does in writing this book.
While most Christians should and ought to model our lives after that of Jesus Christ, we can and should look also to those who modeled faith into the future promise of Christ as well. These people include Esther, Sarai (Sarah, Abram's wife - later Abraham), Rebekah, and Rachel, as well as more women mentioned, too. Faith is as faith does. It means reaching out in obedience to what God calls us to do and take a chance on Him to prove Himself to us.
I feel blessed to read this book by Eileen Smith and she has done a wonderful job with this book. So, it shouldn't be a surprise to say, "I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did." Grab yourself a copy of it, settle down and power through the two hundred and twenty-four pages of this book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell to review this in an objective and fair review.
