Jesus: Easter

By Benjamin H. Liles

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. ~ Isaiah 53:3-4 NKJV

Mind the Mess

By Benjamin H. Liles

Once again I am overwhelmed by thinking of ways to make this site of mine better for everyone involved and including myself. The picture says it all, doesn't it? If it seems some articles have bad formatting, please forgive me on that I am working through these issues as quickly and painlessly as possible. It's not easy trying to figure out what's been done wrong and what's also my fault. So, yet again, pardon me for the glitches and the way things look. Thanks and God bless, everyone!

Remaining in God

By Benjamin H. Liles

But the person who trusts in the Lord will be blessed. The Lord will show him that he can be trusted. "He will be like a tree planted near water that sends its roots by a stream" [Ps. 1:3]. It is not afraid when the days are hot; its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year when no rain comes; it always produces fruit. ~ Jeremiah 17:7-8, Expanded Bible

Thomas Locke's Recruits reminiscent of Song of Solomon Meets Revelation

By Benjamin H. Liles

From start to finish Recruits, Thomas Locke's latest bestseller, is both gripping and fierce in its storytelling. He combines what I consider to be a love story, a coming of age story, romping adventures, and a good old-fashioned shoot-'em out.

How Jesus Followers are Called

But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God - 1 Corinthians 1:24, NLT 2007

Upcoming Projects

By Benjamin H. Liles

I didn't want to go with the standard picture of a helmet and blueprints to show I am at work on this blog/website of mine. I'm tooling around with some ideas to make this site more functional. Not just for those of you who read what God puts on my heart, but for myself as well. This site just looks bulky to me and I want to make it more sleek, more friendly for all of us. The other thing is I am working on some writing projects as well. Hopefully I will be done in this month. If not, I will keep everyone updated as to when those will be done.

In the meantime I hope everyone is blessed, doing well, and keeps on coming back to see what's going on. Thank you and may His peace give you the rest you need.

Being a Mentor

By Benjamin H. Liles

Proverbs 22:6 tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." So, how do you teach (mentor, disciple) someone to hear and walk with God?

Loving Our Neighbor

By Benjamin H. Liles

Jesus answered, “The most important command is this: ‘Listen, people of Israel! The Lord our God is the only Lord. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength’ [Deut. 6:4–5; C these are the opening words of the Shema, the prayer said by pious Jews twice a day, they were reverent towards God, in other words]. The second command is this: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself’ [Lev. 19:18]. There are no commands more important than these.” ~ Mark 12:29-31, Expanded Bible

Honoring Wives

By Benjamin H. Liles

In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself - Ephesians 5:28
