Being a Witness of God

By Benjamin H. Liles

I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior. I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses,” Says the Lord, “that I am God. ~ Isaiah 43:11-12

We're told in Exodus 20 that "You shall have no other gods before me" (verse 3). It is because it was by His might and His hand that enabled the Israelites to be set free from Egypt. I have often heard that Egypt is a reference to bondage. We're in bondage under the restraint of both sin and death. So Isaiah is saying that salvation alone comes from God. Furthermore, we see it through His Son, Jesus Christ. Folks, I know I post it innumerable times, but salvation comes by no other. He delivers us from all the things which can enslave us: money, stress, depression, etc.

All it takes it to "change your mind; turn around." It means looking at the man Jesus who died on the cross for you, to cleanse you from sin, to come and allow Him to be Lord and Savior of your life. Nothing else satisfies but the Lord on high. We witness and partake of this mystery by what the four gospels of the New Testament say and proclaim Christ is. The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed; the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. What other and more proof can be given that Jesus is God's Son, making people whole, and setting the captive free from sin and death?
